Following you at each step of the journey to recovery
Overcrowded Rehabilitation
Year 2030: Meet Jane, who recently experienced a stroke. Even after a month spent in hospital and another two in a rehabilitation center, Jane still has significant weakness and impaired movement on her right side. Despite this, Jane will not receive any more rehabilitation care — there are simply too many people who need her place at the hospital.
Traditional Therapy is Insufficient
After being discharged from the hospital, Jane seeks additional support from a private therapist.
She enrolls in a traditional rehabilitation program, which includes exercises to improve strength,
range of motion, and balance.
Despite her hard work, Jane isn't seeing the progress she'd hoped for. She becomes frustrated and discouraged,
and begins to lose motivation to continue with her therapy.
Just as Jane is about to give up, she is introduced to the SmartVNS rehabilitation system.
Targeting the Injured Brain
Unlike traditional methods, SmartVNS seeks to treat the immediate cause of Jane's deficits—the injured brain.
SmartVNS uses electrical stimulation to activate Jane's brain during therapy movements and enhance her recovery.
Jane simply has to move her weakened right arm, and the system automatically determines the right time to stimulate.
Throughout the Patient Journey
If Jane were ever to experience another stroke, SmartVNS would be ready to assist her throughout her journey to recovery.
SmartVNS is safe to use just days after a stroke, can be integrated into clinical workflows, and can follow
Jane home for remote therapy.
In addition to Jane, there are millions who require therapy every year. This puts a lot of pressure on the
healthcare system, which can struggle to keep up with demand. SmartVNS can be scaled to help people regardless
of their geographic or socioeconomic circumstances.
